MangaCast Review: Ballad of a Shinigami, vol. 1
Head over to MangaCast to read my review of Ballad of a Shinigami, vol. 1. This was an interesting read, featuring tales that are both heartwarming and a little sad. MangaCast is a one-stop website for all things manga, from reviews and news to rankings in Japan.
Here's an excerpt from my review:
Shinigami A-100100, better known as Momo, is a white shinigami. Urban legend states that a white shinigami will appear to those who have lost something and are suffering. And so goes the beginning of Ballad of a Shinigami ... Being a shojo manga retelling of the light novel of the same name, the three stories and prologue in this volume revolve around young love. While the introductory chapter focuses on love lost, the remaining three mostly focus on troubled young souls who find comfort in the unexpected love of another.
While this isn't the best manga I've ever read, it certainly has its merits. Read my review to find out more! Ballad of a Shinigami is available in the U.S. from CMX.
